Best face serum
A serum is the most concentrated step in a routine, which is why it is where the money should go. The best serum for you is the one that matches your main concern — not the one with the longest ingredient list.
- Firmness
- Peptides, GHK-Cu
- Dryness
- Hyaluronic acid, glycerin
- Uneven tone
- Niacinamide, vitamin C
- Sensitivity
- Peptides over acids
Start with one concern
Pick the single thing you would change first: firmness, dryness, tone or reactivity. A serum that targets one concern well beats four that each do a little.
Once that concern improves, you can add a second serum — but most people never need more than two.
Percentages are the real spec
The ingredient list tells you what is in the bottle; the percentage tells you whether it matters. 2% copper peptide, 2–5% niacinamide and multi-weight hyaluronic acid are levels with evidence behind them.
If a brand lists a hero ingredient but never a strength, assume it is there for the label.
Texture decides whether you keep using it
The best formula is the one you apply twice a day without thinking about it. Sticky or heavily fragranced serums get skipped, and a skipped serum has zero effect.
Look for fragrance-free, fast-absorbing formulas that layer under sunscreen without pilling.
Common mistakes
Switching products every three weeks. Most actives need 8–12 weeks before they show what they can do.
Stacking too many actives at once — the barrier breaks down and everything stings, which gets blamed on the newest bottle.
One serum, three actives
2% GHK-Cu copper peptide, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid — formulated to be used twice a day, every day.

How many serums can I use at once?
+
One or two. More than that and you cannot tell what is working, and the risk of irritation goes up.
Serum before or after moisturiser?
+
Always before. Serums are thin and designed to go first; the moisturiser seals them in.
When will I see results?
+
Hydration within days, tone in 4–6 weeks, firmness and lines after 8–12 weeks.
